About

Hi, I'm Jonathan. 👋
I grew up in Tel Aviv, but spent 3 years of my childhood in New York City. That’s where my love for languages, travel, and cultural exchange began. It’s also what I plan to write about on my blog.
I’ve been writing online in one way or another since 2003, when I started my first blog as a nerdy kid. Over the years, my career took me behind the scenes as a video editor and social media manager, working with brands from NGOs and public organizations to innovative tech startups.
But despite career success, something didn’t feel right. I was stressed, burnt out, and unfulfilled. The work didn’t reflect my values or the impact I wanted to make. In the summer of 2024, I decided to hit pause. I left my job and started traveling the world to figure out what really matters to me. This website is part of that journey, and I’m so glad you’re here to follow along.
A few more fun facts…
- 🇮🇱🇺🇸🇦🇹🇩🇪 I’ve lived in 4 countries and speak 3 languages fluently.
- 📚 I got my B.A. in an Interdisciplinary Honors Program in the Humanities at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, focusing on Western & Buddhist philosophy.
- 🍲 I’m a vegetarian and love cooking for friends and family (especially Hummus for lunch, and Indian for dinner).
- 📷 I’m an amateur photographer. Most of the photos on this site were taken with my Fujifilm X-S20 paired with an 18-55mm kit lens.
- 🎢 I track my habits daily to stay focused on my life goals and become a better human being. I'm inspired by the compound effect that shows how small, consistent changes can add up: did you know that improving by just 1% each day can make you 37x better by the end of the year?
